"Terraformer" sees progressive ambient project Mercurial in full album format. Imagine Boards of Canada meets Carbon Based Lifeforms remixed by Richard James. The construction of a new earth takes a lot of planning. First you need a data set for the planetary core. 4.2 terabytes of compressed data, split into two manageable packages. Then you check if it's alive. If so, fire up the surface algorithms and inject some atmosphere into that place. Add some scenery and Bob's your planet. 73 minutes of mellow synth sounds from the Novation Summit, Moog Grandmother and Korg Wavestate, not to mention Dune 3, Vital and a hint of Lyra 8, with some funky-ass beats to keep your toes tapping while we make your new homeworld hospitable. And in case that seems like a madman's dream, you'd better take care of the planet you're on, just in case.
